Many Apple Watch users have faced the frustration of misplacing their watch, particularly when it’s uncharged and powered off. This can be a frustrating situation to face, and it may look like all hope regarding finding your watch is lost.

If you are facing a similar situation and need to find your watch as soon as possible, this article will walk you through the straightforward process of locating your dead Apple Watch.

Understanding the limitations of finding a lost Apple Watch

If you wish to pinpoint the location of your Apple Watch on a map, the watch must have either a Wi-Fi or cellular connection to transmit its location.

There are precautionary measures users can take to enhance their chances of locating a non-responsive Apple Watch.

Before diving into the process, it’s essential to understand a few key points. Firstly, users can only track the whereabouts of an Apple Watch if it’s powered on and has the Find My feature activated.

However, even if the Apple Watch is dead, users can still find it through Find My by engaging Lost Mode.

Additionally, it’s noteworthy that if someone else activates the dead Apple Watch, Lost Mode will display your contact information. This will make its return to you easier.

Steps to find a lost Apple Watch

Steps to find a lost Apple Watch

A. Check for the last known location

 1. Open the Find My app on an iPhone or iCloud.com on a computer.
 2. Ensure you are logged in with the Apple ID linked to your Apple Watch.
 3. Navigate to the “Devices” tab.
 4. Look for the last known location of the Apple Watch.

If your Apple Watch loses power or becomes disconnected from the network, Find My will alert you about its most recent known location. However, this location information will only remain accessible for a brief period.

B. Use the Find My app or iCloud tracking

 1. Open the Find My app on an iPhone or iCloud.com on a computer
 2. Select the Apple Watch from the device list
 3. Utilize the “Play Sound” feature to locate the device if it is nearby

If your watch is nearby, you can utilize the “Play Sound” button to help you find it. The watch will continuously sound until you tap the “dismiss” button. However, if the map doesn’t display your watch, it may be because your watch is offline, not connected to a cellular network, or not synchronized with your iPhone.

C. Check with trusted Apple devices or Find My network

 1. Ask nearby Apple devices with the Find My app to help locate the Apple Watch
 2. Leverage the Find My network, where other Apple devices can help track the missing Apple Watch

By activating Find My iPhone on your Apple Watch and any other Apple Watches paired through Family Setup (if you’ve already set it up on your iPhone), you can utilize Find My to retrieve a lost or stolen watch. With the Activation Lock feature, only you can erase the data from your Apple Watch and pair it with an iPhone.

D. Activate Lost Mode on Apple Watch

 1. Open the Find My app on an iPhone or iCloud.com on a computer
 2. Select the Apple Watch from the device list
 3. Enable the “Lost Mode” feature to lock the Apple Watch remotely
 4. Set a custom message with contact details to display on the Apple Watch

When your Apple Watch enters Lost Mode, your data remains secure. If someone happens to discover and charge your Apple Watch, they won’t be able to connect it to a different phone without your passcode.

Upon charging the Apple Watch, the individual will encounter your phone number displayed on the screen. This allows the finder to contact you to arrange the safe return of your Apple Watch.

Prevention and proactive measures

How To Set Up The Find My On Your Apple Watch

Apple users should activate this feature on all their devices to simplify locating them when misplaced. It won’t take more than five minutes of your time. Just follow these steps:

 1. Open Settings app.
 2. Look for your name at the top of the screen and tap on it to access the next page.
 3. Select the “Find My” option.
 4. If you want specific friends or family members to be able to view your location, you can enable the “Share My Location” feature; otherwise, you can skip this step.
 5. Next, switch the “Find My” toggle to the “on” position.
 6. Finally, enable the “Send Last Location” option, and you’re all set.

Following these steps, you can enable “Find My” on your phone and any other Apple devices you own, such as your Apple Watch or AirPods.

Regularly keeping your Apple Watch charged is essential to ensure its tracking functionality and overall performance. A fully charged Apple watch will give you many features you can enjoy, like continuous tracking, emergency features, and accurate GPS location.

You can also consider using a specialized Bluetooth tracker accessory designed specifically for Apple Watches. These accessories are tailor-made for Apple Watches, ensuring a seamless fit and complementing the watch’s aesthetics.

Reporting a lost or stolen Apple Watch

Reporting a lost or stolen Apple Watch

Losing your Apple Watch or becoming a victim of theft can be a frustrating experience.

Report the theft to your local police department, providing them with the watch’s serial number and any relevant details. While the police may not always recover your watch, having a report on record can assist with insurance claims.

If you come across an Apple Watch that you suspect might be stolen, use Apple’s online tool, the Apple Watch Serial Number Checker, to verify its status. The tool will indicate if the watch has been reported as lost or stolen, allowing you to take appropriate action, such as contacting the owner or notifying the authorities.

If your lost or stolen Apple Watch cannot be retrieved, use the Find My app to remotely erase your data. This step prevents unauthorized access to your sensitive information and safeguards your privacy.

For Apple Watches with cellular capabilities, inform your cellular provider about the loss or theft. They can suspend your service to prevent unauthorized usage and additional charges.

Conclusion

Losing your Apple Watch can be a source of stress. Still, with the diverse set of methods explained in this article, you can relax knowing there are numerous approaches to locate your device, even when it’s not functioning.

Check the most recent known location of the lost device before its watch battery runs out. Act quickly before someone else discovers your smartwatch before you. If you’ve misplaced your Apple Watch and haven’t activated the Find My app, you won’t be able to track it through any other Apple service.

Dealing with a lost or stolen Apple Watch can be challenging, but following these steps can regain control and protect your data. Remember to use the Find My app to locate and secure your Apple Watch, report the incident to the police, and take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of your personal information.

Interested in how to make a Fermented Spider Eye? Well, I’m a huge fan of Potions in Minecraft and Fermented Spider Eye is their main ingredient. Whether I want to slow down other players, deal more damage to my enemies, or become invisible momentarily, these Potions have got me covered.

But have you ever wondered how these are made? A ‘magical’ ingredient, Fermented Spider Eye helps you brew a variety of powerful concoctions within seconds.

But since a Fermented Spider Eye can’t be farmed, you’ll need to make it yourself.

To craft a Fermented Spider Eye, arrange a Brown Mushroom, Spider Eye, and Sugar on your Crafting Table’s 3×3 grid in any configuration you like. Once you’ve done this, you’ll find the Fermented Spider Eye in the Output slot.

Read on as I explore everything about these amazing Fermented Spider Eyes in detail. So, let’s get started.

What Is a Fermented Spider Eye in Minecraft?

Fermented Spider Eye in Minecraft

A Fermented Spider Eye is a brewing ingredient in Minecraft. It was first introduced to the game’s Bedrock Edition in Update 0.12.1, released on December 19, 2011.

There are two interesting things about the Fermented Spider Eye to remember:

 • It’s not edible
 • You won’t readily find it in your Minecraft inventory

This leaves you with the task of making your own Fermented Spider Eye(s) before you craft any wild and wacky concoction, such as the Potions of Weakness, Harming, Slowness, and Invisibility.

What is the Code for a Fermented Spider Eye?

The code for a Fermented Spider Eye is minecraft:fermented_spider_eye

How to Make a Fermented Spider Eye in Minecraft?

To make a Fermented Spider Eye in Minecraft, below is the list of required ingredients and my recipe:

The Ingredients:

 • 1 Brown Mushroom (source from dark areas, such as caves and forests. I also prefer growing them on Dirt blocks)
Brown Mushrooms in Minecraft
 • 1 Spider Eye (source by killing Spiders or find inside Spider Spawners and Spider Web Chests)
Spider Eye in Minecraft
 • 1 Sugar (source from a Sugar Cane, which grows in stalks near water)
Sugar in Minecraft

Crafting a Fermented Spider Eye: Recipe

 • Open your 3×3 grid Crafting Table
 • Place the Spider Eye in one of the slots.
 • Put Sugar in another slot.
 • Put Brown Mushroom in the third slot.
 • The resulting Fermented Spider Eye will appear on the Output slot.

Q: When Were Fermented Spider Eyes Added to Minecraft?

A: Fermented Spider Eyes were added to Minecraft in Java Edition Beta 1.9 Prerelease 2, released on September 13, 2011. If I go into more detail, they were first introduced to the game’s Bedrock Edition in Update 0.12.1, released on December 19, 2011.

Q: What Drops Fermented Spider Eyes?

A: Fermented Spider Eyes, unlike Spider Eyes, can’t be dropped in Minecraft. As I told you above, you must create them on your own using the three ingredients – 1 Spider Eye, 1 Brown Mushroom, and 1 Sugar.

Q: Can You Make a Fermented Spider Eye With Red Mushrooms?

A: No, it’s not possible to make a Fermented Spider Eye with Red Mushrooms. You must only use the brown variant, which I recommend finding in dark caves, oak biomes, and swamps.

Q: What Happens if You Eat a Fermented Spider Eye in Minecraft?

A: You can’t eat a Fermented Spider Eye in Minecraft, as it’s not edible. If you still try to eat one, all you’ll get is a message saying, “You can’t eat that,” on the screen. Green Dye in Minecraft is more than just a coloring agent; it’s a gateway to intricate designs, personalized touches, and expressive creations within the game’s vast sandbox environment. Derived primarily from the cacti that sprout in desert biomes, this dye can transform mundane objects into unique artifacts.

To get Green Dye, you need to smelt a cactus in a furnace. It will give you one Green Dye per cactus. This guide will delve deep into the world of Minecraft’s Green Dye, guiding players from basic acquisition techniques to advanced methods of use. Whether you want to craft, trade for it, or find it in chests, we have you covered.

Understanding Minecraft Dyes

Understanding Minecraft Dyes

In the vibrant world of Minecraft, dyes stand as a collection of sixteen dynamic items, unlocking a rainbow of possibilities for blocks and items.

Dyes are special items used to change the color of other items. Think of them as the painter’s palette in the pixelated realm of Minecraft, enabling players to customize their worlds in vivid hues. Dyes hold a dual purpose in the game.

First, they’re indispensable in crafting, allowing players to create colored variants of various items like wool, terracotta, and even fireworks. Besides making things, you can use dyes to decorate.

With them, players can customize banners, bed linens, and even the collars of their pet wolves. In a game world built upon the principles of creativity and customization, dyes are the touch of personal flair every Minecrafter cherishes.

Types of Green Dye in Minecraft

Types of Green Dye in Minecraft

Within the kaleidoscopic world of Minecraft, green hues have always stood out for their natural charm and versatility. Here’s a closer look at the variations of green dyes:

 1. Lime Green Dye: This vibrant, bright green shade pops out and can bring life to any creation. Typically crafted by combining white dye (usually from bone meal) with green dye, it represents a lighter shade of the traditional green, perfect for those looking for a little more zest in their builds.
 2. Regular Green Dye: The classic and original green hue in Minecraft is obtained by smelting cactus blocks in a furnace.
 3. Warped Fungus Green (Custom): A fanciful twist on the standard green, the Warped Fungus Green isn’t a native dye in the game but represents the imaginations of the Minecraft community. Drawing inspiration from the warped fungus found in the Nether, this shade imagines a green with bluish undertones, echoing the mysterious vibe of the Nether biomes.

Basic Tools and Resources Needed for Crafting Green Dye in Minecraft

To craft the lush green dye in Minecraft, a player must first gather essential tools and materials. Let’s delve into what these are:

Crafting Table

Crafting Table

The Crafting Table is a fundamental tool in Minecraft. It provides a 3×3 crafting grid, enabling the creation of a wide array of items that aren’t possible to craft in the basic 2×2 grid available in the player’s inventory.

To craft a Crafting Table, collect four wooden planks, which can be obtained by placing wooden logs from any tree type in the crafting grid in the player’s inventory. Once you have the wooden planks, place them in a 2×2 pattern in the crafting grid to get your Crafting Table.

Furnace

Furnace

Crafting a furnace requires eight cobblestones. In the Crafting Table’s 3×3 grid, place the cobblestones in every slot except the center one to craft a furnace.

To use the furnace, right-click (or tap) on it. Put the thing you want to melt (like a cactus for a green color) in the upper slot and a fuel source (such as coal or wood) in the lower slot. The furnace will light up and begin the smelting process.

Raw materials

Raw materials

Cactus: The primary source of green dye. Once collected, a cactus can be smelted in a furnace to produce the green dye.

Sea Pickle: While not directly used to create the traditional green dye, when smelted, sea pickles produce lime dye, a lighter shade of green.

With these tools and resources at hand, any Minecrafter is set to add a splash of green to their pixelated adventures!

Gathering Materials for Green Dye

Cactus

Cactus
 • Cacti predominantly grow in desert biomes, easily recognized by their tall, green, prickly columns.
 • Use any tool or even your bare hands to break the cactus block. However, be cautious, as touching or bumping into a cactus will cause damage.

Sea Pickle

Sea Pickle
 • Sea pickles are found underwater, especially in warm ocean biomes. They often cluster on coral blocks and emit a soft light.
 • To collect sea pickles, break them using any tool or your hand.

Bone Meal (for Lime Green Dye)

Bone Meal (for Lime Green Dye)
 • Bone Meal is a white powdery substance.
 • Craft Bone Meal by placing bones (usually obtained from skeletons) in any slot of the crafting grid. This versatile material creates Lime Green Dye when combined with green dye and serves as a fertilizer in-game.

Crafting Green Dye: The Basic Method

Crafting Green Dye: The Basic Method

Crafting green dye in Minecraft is straightforward yet rewarding. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

 1. Locate a Furnace: Before even approaching the crafting table, you’ll need a furnace.
 2. Smelt the Cactus: Place the harvested cactus in the top slot of the furnace and your fuel source (like coal or wood) in the bottom slot. Once smelted, the furnace will yield green dye.
 3. Move to Crafting Table: Place the green dye and bone meal in any shape on the 3×3 crafting grid if crafting lime green dye. This combination produces lime green dye.

Crafting Green Dye: Advanced Techniques

For those looking to produce green dye en masse:

 1. Bulk Smelting: Utilize multiple furnaces to smelt numerous cacti, simultaneously speeding up the production rate.
 2. Hopper System: Integrate hoppers into your furnace setup. Using a hopper, you can automate the process by connecting a chest filled with cacti to a furnace. The furnace will be continually supplied with cacti until the chest is empty.
 3. Redstone Machinery: For the truly ambitious, construct a Redstone mechanism that automatically harvests cactus and funnels it into furnaces. Such automated farms involve pistons, observers, and Redstone dust to harvest and transport cacti seamlessly.

Harness these techniques, and soon, your Minecraft world will be rich in green and lime-green hues!

Automated Cactus Farms

Automated Cactus Farms

Automated cactus farms capitalize on the fact that a cactus block breaks when next to another block.

 1. Start by placing a series of sand blocks spaced one block apart.
 2. On each sand block, plant a cactus.
 3. Next, place a block beside the top of each cactus. This ensures that the new block will immediately break when the cactus grows due to the adjacent block.
 4. Beneath the cacti, place water streams to direct the broken cactus towards a collection point, typically a hopper connected to a chest.
 5. Enhance automation by linking the collection system to a series of furnaces using hoppers, ensuring cacti are smelted into green dye automatically.

Benefits of Automation:

 1. Efficiency: Once set up, the farm continuously produces without player intervention.
 2. Time-Saving: Players can focus on other tasks or adventures while the farm operates.
 3. Resource Abundance: Automated farms ensure a steady supply of green dye, which is especially beneficial for large projects.
 4. Safety: No risk of getting pricked while manually harvesting!

By initially investing a bit of time, automated cactus farms provide an invaluable, sustainable resource for avid Minecraft builders.

Using Dispensers and Hoppers

In the dye-making realm, dispensers and hoppers automate and streamline the process—hoppers transfer items between containers, perfect for feeding cacti into furnaces. Dispensers can be set to release bone meal, aiding in large-scale dye production.

Converting Green Dye to Lime Green Dye

Combine green dye with bone meal on a crafting table to shift to a zestier hue. This simple combination yields the bright lime green dye, providing a lighter alternative for builders.

Customizing Colors: Combining Green with Other Dyes

Mixing dyes unlocks a palette of colors. For teal, blend green dye with blue. To achieve an olive shade, experiment with green, brown, and sometimes a hint of black dye.

Green Dye in Bedrock Edition vs. Java Edition

Both versions share the basic green dye mechanics, with cacti as the primary source. However, crafting recipes or certain mechanics may slightly differ, given Bedrock’s cross-platform nature and Java’s PC exclusivity. Always refer to version-specific guides for precision, but rest assured, the vibrant essence of green remains consistent across editions.

Practical Uses for Green Dye in Minecraft

Practical Uses for Green Dye in Minecraft

In the diverse universe of Minecraft, green dye finds its way into many crafting avenues, amplifying aesthetics and allowing for greater personalization.

 1. Dying Wool: A foundational use for green dye is to color wool. Whether you’re aiming to craft thematic carpets, distinctive beds, or just blocks for construction, dyed wool offers an expansive palette. Transform plain white wool into rich green or zesty lime shades, making your creations stand out.
 2. Staining Glass: Green stained glass can elevate any building project. Players can produce translucent green glass panes or blocks by combining green dye with glass blocks on a crafting table. They are ideal for crafting tranquil greenhouse windows, ornamental artworks, and marine-themed underwater structures.
 3. Creating Banners: Banners are a way to stamp your mark in Minecraft with green dye, design patterns, borders, or gradients on banners. Hang them high on castle walls, use them as emblems for your team, or place them as directional markers. The vibrant green ensures they grab attention and reflect the creativity within.

Safety Measures: Avoiding Common Pitfalls

Several missteps can hinder your progress or jeopardize your in-game well-being when on the quest for green dye in Minecraft. Here’s how to steer clear:

 1. Cactus Caution: Cacti can cause damage if you walk into them. Always approach with care to avoid unnecessary harm.
 2. Desert Dangers: Desert biomes, the primary source of cacti, are home to hostile mobs at night. Ensure you’re equipped or retreat at dusk.
 3. Underwater Undertakings: When hunting for sea pickles, remember to monitor your oxygen level to prevent drowning. Having a door or water-breathing potions can aid in extended underwater tasks.
 4. Resource Mismanagement: Avoid wasting fuel in your furnace. Only add as many cacti as you can smelt with the available fuel to ensure efficient use.
 5. Crafting Confusion: Ensure you’re using the correct crafting table or furnace slots. Misplacements can lead to unproductive crafting attempts.

The post How to Make Obsidian in Minecraft: Unveiling the Secrets of Obsidian Crafting appeared first on The WiredShopper.

]]>
Obsidian (Block ID: 49) is one of the strongest and most important blocks in Minecraft. It can be found naturally throughout the Minecraft world generation and holds many benefits in the Minecraft gameplay. Obsidian is a necessary resource in order to complete the main Minecraft story and beat the Ender Dragon. Moreover, it is also quite useful in creating resource farms and other structures in Minecraft. So, want to learn how to make Obsidian in Minecraft?

Understanding Obsidian Basics

What is Obsidian?

Obsidian in Minecraft is formed when a block of lava comes in contact with flowing water. It is extremely durable in nature and takes 10 seconds to break with a Diamond Pickaxe. Although, this time can be reduced by putting Efficiency enchantments on your pickaxe.

Obsidian can be used to create many useful things in Minecraft, the most important one being the Nether Portal. Other useful items that require Obsidian as an ingredient include:

 • Enchanting Tables,
 • Ender Chests,
 • Beacons,

Obsidian also has a lot of other uses, thanks to its unique abilities. For example, it is often used in creating farms because it doesn’t take damage from TNT or other explosions.

Preparatory Steps Before Making Obsidian

Gathering Resources

You will require some tools and resources if you want to farm Obsidian in Minecraft. The tools required are:

 • Diamond Pickaxe
 • Bucket of Water
 • Bucket of Lava

Diamond Pickaxe

Diamond Pickaxe

Items needed:

 • Diamonds
 • Sticks

If you are starting from scratch and don’t have any Diamonds to create a pickaxe yet, you will need to go mining with an Iron pickaxe. This is because if you break a Diamond block with any other pickaxe, it gets destroyed and doesn’t drop any Diamonds.

Once you have collected at least three Diamonds, you can craft a Diamond Pickaxe by placing them on the crafting table in the shown pattern.

Water Bucket

Water Bucket

Items needed:

 • Bucket

To obtain a Bucket of Water, go near a lake or pond and right-click while having your bucket equipped. This will give you a Bucket of Water in Minecraft.

Lava Bucket

Lava Bucket

Items needed:

 • Bucket

The process of obtaining a Bucket of Lava is similar to that of a Bucket of Water. However, finding a pool of lava is much more difficult than it is to find water. Once you do find it, right-click on it while holding an empty bucket, and you will get a Bucket of Lava.

Note: You get one block of Obsidian for every Bucket of Lava that you have. So collect as many as you need.

Tools Required

Firstly, you need a Diamond Pickaxe to be able to farm a block of Obsidian. Otherwise, it won’t break. Additionally, you can also use a Netherite Pickaxe if you have progressed far enough in your Minecraft world. This would be even faster than using a Diamond Pickaxe. Other than these two, no other tools can be used to farm Obsidian in Minecraft.

Creating a Safe Environment

Secure The Area

Secure The Area

Farming enough Obsidian to make something valuable might take a while. So, you should ensure your surroundings are safe to avoid getting attacked by mobs or other threats.

Firstly, make sure that the area around you is lit up properly so no zombies, skeletons, or other mobs can spawn near you. This is why it is best to do your Obsidian farming near or inside your base. You should also look out for Phantoms if you haven’t slept in Minecraft for three days.

Working with lava in Minecraft can be dangerous because not only does it kill you, but it also burns all your items. So ensure you don’t place lava unnecessarily, and follow our instructions precisely. In case you do accidentally place lava, right-click immediately again on the lava source block to pick it up and stop it from spreading.

Inventory Management

Inventory Management

When working with lava, it is crucial that you don’t keep valuable items in your inventory. This way, even if you die, you don’t lose a lot of valuable stuff. Only keep the necessary items in your inventory that you can afford to lose.

You should also keep the relevant items in your Hotbar in the order that you’ll need them for quick access.

The Water-Lava Interaction

How Water and Lava Interact

How Water and Lava Interact

Water and Lava have an interesting reaction when they come in contact with each other in Minecraft. When flowing water comes in contact with flowing lava, it forms Cobblestone. This mechanic is useful for creating an infinite Cobblestone generator, but that’s not what we are aiming for here.

The other case is when flowing water comes in contact with a source lava block. When this happens, the source Water block will turn into Obsidian, exactly what we want.

Source Block

Water Source Block vs. Flowing Water

Flowing Water

When you right-click while holding a Bucket of Water, it creates a Water Source Block. Water from this source block flows outward in an eight-block radius on a flat surface. This is called Flowing Water. It is essential to know the difference between them since people often get confused and aren’t able to follow guides correctly.

Breaking an ice block in Minecraft will also create a Water Source Block. So you can use this instead if you don’t have a Water Bucket handy.

3 Simple Methods for Making Obsidian

Traditional Mining Method

Traditional Mining Method

This is the simplest and most common way of farming Obsidian. Here’s how it works:

 1. Place down a Water Source Block using a Bucket of Water or Ice
 2. Once you have Flowing Water, place your Lava inside it and watch it turn into Obsidian. (Note: Place the lava inside the flowing water and not near it. Otherwise, it will generate Cobblestone and flowing lava.)
 3. Break the Obsidian block with your Diamond or Netherite pickaxe
 4. Repeat steps 3 and 4 if you have multiple lava buckets

This method is as simple as it looks if you follow it correctly. Make sure you place the Water first, then place the lava to prevent the lava from flowing.

The Mold Method

The Mold Method

The Mold Method is more difficult than the traditional method, but it saves a lot of time. This is why it is commonly used in Minecraft speedruns. This method involves placing the lava where you need the Obsidian block to be so you don’t have to break it and manually place it again.

The Mold Method does not require you to have any pickaxe and is most commonly used to build Nether Portals. It also works best if you do it against a wall. Here are the steps you should follow:

 1. Place a Water Source Block above where you need the Obsidian to be
 2. Once your desired spot has flowing water, place lava on it, which will convert it into Obsidian
 3. Repeat the above steps for placing multiple Obsidian blocks

By following the Mold method, you can quickly create a Nether Portal without the hassle of crafting a Diamond Pickaxe. The only drawback is that it is much more difficult than the traditional method, so the newer players might not be able to follow it correctly.

The Infinite Obsidian Generator

An Infinite Obsidian Farm Generator in Minecraft works by continuously placing Lava in front of you while you break it with your pickaxe. Unfortunately, this isn’t a true infinite Obsidian generator since it only works as long as it has fresh Lava Buckets inside. Plus, it also takes a lot of effort to build.

So, it is not worth the effort to create an infinite Obsidian generator. Using the Traditional or Mold methods is much more convenient if you want to obtain Obsidian in Minecraft.

Advanced Tips and Tricks To Make Obsidian

Safety Measures

Safety Measures

When working with Lava in Minecraft, you should follow some safety precautions to avoid dying and losing all your inventory. Always make sure you are standing a safe distance away from any lava below or near you. This way, you reduce the chances of getting pushed into lava by any nearby mobs.

You should also try to keep an extra Water Bucket in your Hotbar at all times as a safety measure in case you do find yourself falling into lava. As soon as you start taking damage, put the water down below you. This will stop you from taking any further damage, saving you and your inventory.

Enchantments to Speed Up the Process

Enchantments to Speed Up the Process

You can reduce the time it takes you to mine an Obsidian block by using an Efficiency enchantment on your pickaxe. This enchantment comes in varying levels that range from 1 to 5. The higher the enchantment level, the quicker the block will break.

Here is a chart detailing how each level improves the efficiency of your pickaxe:

LevelEfficiency Increase
I25%
II30%
III35%
IV40%
V45%

The Efficiency enchantment can be obtained using the following ways:

 • Enchanting Table
 • Fishing
 • Trading with a Desert Librarian Village
 • From a random loot chest.

If you get a book with an Efficiency enchantment on it, you can apply it to your pickaxe using an Anvil. Moreover, you can also use two books that have the same Efficiency level as the Anvil to obtain an Efficiency book that is one level higher.

Use-cases for Obsidian

Building a Nether Portal

Building a Nether Portal

The most common use of Obsidian is to build a Nether Portal. To build this, you will need at least 10 Obsidian blocks. Here’s how you can build it:

 1. Start by placing down two Obsidian blocks on the ground
 2. Place three blocks on both sides of the blocks you placed earlier to form the shape of a door. (Note: You can use any other blocks for the corner pieces.)
 3. Finish off your door by placing two more blocks on top
 4. Right-click with a Flint and Steel inside the door frame, and your Nether Portal should be ready

If you place down any Obsidian block in the wrong position, you can just break it with your Diamond Pickaxe and place it again in the correct spot.

Creating an Ender Chest

Creating an Ender Chest

An Ender Chest allows you to safely store any of your items without the fear of losing them or having them stolen by any other players. To craft an Ender Chest, you’ll need:

 • 8x Obsidian,
 • 1x Eye of Ender.

Place them in the Crafting Table as shown, and you will have yourself an Ender Chest.

Crafting an Enchanting Table

Crafting an Enchanting Table

An Enchanting Table in Minecraft allows you to enchant your items at the cost of Lapiz lazuli and XP. To craft an Enchanting Table, you’ll need:

 • 4x Obsidian,
 • 2x Diamonds,
 • 1x Book.

Place them in the Crafting Table as shown, and you will obtain an Enchanting Table.

What to Look for Before You Buy a Rolling Laptop Bag?

Consider these factors before buying a rolling laptop bag for yourself.

Size

Regarding the size of the rolling laptop bag, you must factor in two things. First, the dimensions of your laptop, and second, the other essentials (say, files, accessories, personal items, etc.) you plan to carry along.

Handle

A retractable and perfectly built handle is something you shouldn’t overlook. After all, you’ll need it while commuting through a crowded place like an airport, or a bustling city street. So, check its construction and whether it has screws that are steel-reinforced.

Note: Avoid bags with cheap-quality handles, as I always find them snapping, breaking, or falling apart.

Wheels

Next come the wheels. I prefer them bolted to my laptop bag, as it reduces the odds of them loosening or falling off. Plus, check if the wheels are replaceable, too.

Replacing the entire bag just because its wheels have gone bad doesn’t make sense, right?

Material

Some common materials used for rolling laptop bags include leather (durable & stylish), nylon (lightweight & water-resistant), canvas (sturdy & economical), and polyester (affordable & wrinkle-free). So, you can opt for any of these, depending on your personal preference and budget.

Storage

The best rolling laptop bag should have ample storage space, both for the laptop and other essentials. What I prefer are multiple compartments, pockets, and organizers to keep everything well-organized and easily accessible.

Now, let’s have a look at the detailed reviews of 5 top-quality rolling laptop bags, together with their features, pros, and cons.

1. Best Overall Rolling Laptop Bag

Solo Walker Leather Rolling Laptop Bag

Specifications

 • Primary Material: Colombian leather
 • Best For: Office, travel
 • Dimensions: 13″ x 17″ x 7″
 • Available Colors: Tan, Black
 • Weight: 6.5 lbs

If you’re a fan of leather laptop bags like me, you can’t go wrong with the Solo Walker Leather Rolling Laptop Bag. Here’s why.

Costing a little over $250, the product is the perfect combination of durability, flexibility, and versatility. One of my pals has been using this rolling laptop bag (after my recommendation) for over three years, and it’s still in fine condition for office and travel purposes. All credit goes to its long-lasting Colombian leather construction.

Quick Fact: Colombian leather is made from the hides of cattle raised in the Colombian Andes, known for their thick, strong skin.

Besides its high-quality construction, the bag’s interior is also thoughtfully designed. This provides adequate space for everything you need on the road. Regarding the laptop compartment, it comes fully padded and measures the standard 15.6 inches. My HP Intel 10th Gen i3-1005G1 laptop fits in nicely, for instance.

There’s also a front zippered compartment. It features an organizer with a hook ‘n loop flap closure mesh pocket for frequently needed items.

Another plus point of the Solo Walker rolling laptop bag is its hidden telescopic handle at the back. I found it very sturdy and well-built, making it easy to lift the bag where rolling along the ground isn’t possible. When not in use, the handle will retract back into a zippered compartment.

As for the wheels, I would rate them 4/5 for two reasons. First, there are only two wheels and second, their bearings are quite average.

Lastly, an all-inclusive 5-year warranty covers this expensive, yet value-for-money leather laptop bag.

Pros

 • Retractable handle
 • Made from soft yet sturdy leather
 • Rolls smoothly and quietly
 • Generous storage space

Cons

 • Wheel bearings are average
 • Just two rolling wheels, instead of four

 • Available Colors: Black
 • Weight: 5.95 lbs

For shoppers on a budget, the ROSECER Rolling Laptop Bag is the ideal value-for-money model.

The best thing about the bag is its waterproof polyester fabric. If you live in an area that receives a lot of rain or if you travel frequently, this rolling laptop bag will protect your laptop (and other items) from water damage. Plus, the material’s strength and flexibility get a 5/5 from me. I just loved it!

Coming to the storage space, the bag is super spacious. There are multiple zippered and non-zippered pockets to store all your belongings, from your 17.3″ laptop to an iPad, wallet, and documents. Everything can be easily accessed, too. In addition, the leftover space can be utilized for other daily essentials for overnight trips, including 2-3 days’ worth of clothing!

Note: The main compartment’s two buckles and hook-and-loop straps are also a great feature we can’t ignore, as they prevent anything from falling out.

For commuting, you can roll the bag on its two high-quality silent wheels. Or just use the hidden shoulder straps if in a crowded place, like any regular laptop backpack. You’ll only need to retract the telescopic handle by using the intuitive push button.

ROSECER has made your business and personal trips more convenient by providing a luggage strap on the back of the laptop bag. This means that you can attach it securely to your travel suitcase.

 • Dimensions: 17.7″ x 9.3″ x 14.2″
 • Available Colors: Black
 • Weight: 5.51 lbs

Being a woman, you can’t leave home without carrying your purse, makeup bags, and other essentials. So, the extra-large BAGSMART Rolling Laptop Bag for Women is an ultimate pick.

This 2-in-1 rolling laptop bag looks classy and trendy, due to the all-black textured exterior with golden zippers. The pink interior is also pretty elegant, made from polyester. In addition, the bag doesn’t disappoint, in terms of durability and reliability in the long run.

With regard to storage space, there’s no dearth of pockets and pouches to accommodate your daily essentials.. The main compartment is also huge, capable of holding a 17.3″ wide laptop with the utmost protection.

While the sturdy handle and rubber pulleys work fine to ensure smooth maneuvering for a pleasant travel experience, I wasn’t really impressed with the wheels. So, BAGSMART needs to work on this.

On the security front, the lockable zippers provide reliable protection for your valuables. You also have the option to use third-party safety locks for added security. If you want to buy one, check out this TSA-approved luggage lock

Are you a fan of rolling laptop backpacks? If yes, you can’t afford to miss the JanSport Driver 8 Rolling Backpack

I’ve tried and tested 25+ rolling backpacks for this review guide, but only the Driver 8 by JanSport proved the most value for money to me.

One main reason for this is the tough 100% recycled 600d polyester construction. As a result, the backpack is far more resistant to wear and tear than its competitors.

Although the laptop sleeve isn’t very long at just 15″, its all-around padding compensates well. But I appreciate that there are not one, but two main compartments, a side water bottle pocket, and a front pocket for all your essentials.

Keeping you on the move is the two-wheel system, together with a telescopic handle. There are also tuck-away shoulder straps for an effortless travel experience. Still, I wish the straps were wider to evenly distribute the weight across my shoulders.

Lastly, remember that the JanSport Driver 8 Rolling Backpack isn’t fully waterproof. So, step out in rainy or snowy weather with suitable protection for your laptop and other items.

Pros

 • Holds an amazing amount of stuff
 • Wide wheels
 • It doesn’t fall over while rolling
 • Best-in-class strength and durability

Specifications

 • Primary Material: Nylon
 • Best For: Office, travel
 • Dimensions: 16.5″ x 9.1″ x 13.8″
 • Available Colors: Black
 • Weight: 7 pounds

Last but not least, the AirTraveler Rolling Briefcase Rolling Laptop Bag is an irresistible pick for office goers. Here’s why.

This laptop bag is made of nylon, making it affordable and resistant to creases. It also dries quickly, offers good color retention, and, most importantly, low maintenance. These are some of the reasons I’ve added this AirTraveler rolling laptop bag-cum-briefcase to my list.

Furthermore, the main laptop compartment is elegantly designed and fits 14.1″ laptops (or ultra-thin notebooks) easily. Yes, I agree, this is too small! Nevertheless, the bag makes up for this with its assortment of pockets and pouches. The roomy interior consists of a large zippered organizer that nicely accommodates your other office or travel essentials.

Thanks to its multi-zippered design, you don’t need to worry about where to store small and frequently needed stuff like paper notepads, pens, markers, business cards, sticky notes, and other office essentials.

When it comes to maneuverability, the pair of rolling wheels and adjustable push-button locking upright handle make the briefcase easy to roll, carry, or lift from one location to another. The best part? Both the wheels and handles are bolted and screwed to the bag, respectively.

All these features make the AirTraveler Rolling Briefcase Rolling Laptop Bag a worthy buy!

Pros

 • Also fits above the seats on big airplanes
 • Ideal for daily use
 • Adjustable and retractable handle
 • Velcro strap for enhanced stability of your laptop

Cons

 • No shoulder straps
 • Average zipper quality
