How to Move Personal Folders in Outlook to Another Computer?

  1. Go to the “Files” tab.
  2. Press “Open & Export.”
  3. Select “Import/Export.” 
  4. Press “Export to a file.”
  5. Click “Next.”
  6. Select the “Outlook Data File (.pst).”

Copy and Import the Files to a New Computer

Once you convert the Outlook OST files to PST file format, you can make a successful transfer to a new computer. To do this, connect the storage device (USB or external storage) where you saved the files and then copy the converted files to the new computer’s hard drive.

Transfer Outlook Data to a New or Existing Outlook Profile on Another Computer

After transferring the PST files to a new computer via an external storage device, import the files to an existing or new Microsoft Outlook profile. You can do this by following the steps below:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2013/2016/2019. 
  2. Select the “File” tab. 
  3. Go to “Open & Export.” 
  4. Select “Import and Export Wizard.” 
  5. Choose “Import from another program or file” from the list of options.
  6. Select “Next.”

  1. Open the Zimbra Migration Wizard. 
  2. Choose “Zimbra Desktop Migration.” 
  3. Select the PST files.
  4. You can choose the items and additional folders to migrate as well as select other migration options that you’d like.
  5. Press “Migrate” to start the migration process. 
  6. “Migration Complete” will appear on the screen, showing all the files and folders successfully migrated.
  7. Once you open your Zimbra Desktop, it will show all your Microsoft Outlook files and other imported data like Calendar, Folders, Contacts, Tasks, etc. 
  8. You can drag and drop the files to the “Accounts folder” from the “Local folders” to move them to your Zimbra Collaboration Account.  


Since there is no other way to move Outlook OST files, they need to be transferred to PST files to transfer personal folders of Outlook to a new computer. You can do this manually by following the steps above or via a third-party tool. Once the file format is changed, you can proceed to move them to a new computer, either on Microsoft Outlook or Zimbra.
