Regarding your “Cons: No immersion reading”. Oasis has text-to-speech and you can adjust reading speed. It is the badly designed feature though. My Oasis’ battery is empty in about 10 hours when using text-to-speech (very important feature for a non-native language learner like me, I guess). The setup is rubbish and often annoying due to bluetooth collisions. Also, there are several seconds long pauses once new page loaded which is again annoying. I need to charge my device daily.

In reply to Samantha. Samantha, There will always be ways to exploit the tech that comes out of the box.We as publishers cannot condone stripping off DRM and using the books for free that may strip royalty to the authors who essentially give you the experience of reading. -Lisa

Why do you think you can’t load your own books to a Kindle? Ever heard of Calibre? Calibre can strip DRM and convert books to any format you need. It isn’t rocket science. People seem to always think if they buy a Kindle they are locked into Amazons bookstore of something. I never buy a book in their store. Why the heck would I pay money to essentially rent a book they can remove access to at any time.
